HV Chapman & Sons began binding books in 1947. During its first 65 years, the bookbindery expanded to include rebinding and light restoration services. In 2012, Stan Chapman sold the bookbindery to Tim de la Vega, a third-generation printer with over 30 years of experience in his trade. In 2015, Tim purchased a full-service printing and promotions business, RAM Business Forms, and formed HVC & RAM, LLC. With the addition of printing, HV Chapman and Sons is now a full service book manufacturer. 2017 marks our 70th year in business, and we continue to build books the same way we did in 1947.
HV Chapman & Sons offers a full range of services, but we have a passion for family history and genealogy books. We have the ability to take your book from concept to completion. We offer editing, formatting, printing, Smyth sewing, perfect binding, and hard back binding. We will craft your book by hand, much as it would have been done in our shop in 1947. We partner with you as little or as much as you would like to create the final volume you envision. We can print and bind your content for you, or we can bind your printed research. Regardless of where we join you on your journey, you will finish with a one of a kind, hand crafted book. Because we assemble everything by hand and sew our books in the old-world style, you will have an heirloom to be treasured by generations to come.
We’ll be in booth 532 at the NGS Conference. Please stop by and visit us to find out more about our offerings and pick up one of our flyers for 10% off your binding services while you are there.
