Greater Richmond Convention Center (GRCC) Conference events will be held at both the Marriott Hotel and The Greater Richmond Convention Center. Both facilities are ADA compliant with wheelchair ramps, elevator standards, door width standards, and rest room accessibility. Details for the GRCC can be found at http://www.richmondcenter.com/attending/visitor-services/ and for the Marriott Hotel at http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/ricdt-richmond-marriott/ under “Accessibility.” Lecture Rooms at the Conference The back row of lecture rooms will be reserved for wheelchairs and scooters. Signs will be posted on the back of the chairs that are directly in front of this row. People in wheelchairs and scooters will be able to wheel in and out easily. Room monitors will be available to help with placement. Wheelchairs and scooters cannot be parked in aisles, because they create a safety hazard for others. Attendees who are in a wheelchair or scooter and have hearing difficulties may request a place in the front of the room. Please arrive at the lecture room at least 30 minutes before the session begins so the room monitor can arrange to seat you in the front. An ASL interpreter will be provided if requested thirty days before the conference. Additional Conference Hotels Each of the five convention hotels have a limited number of handicap rooms available. Contact information for the hotels can be found under “Accommodations” on the conference website http://conference.ngsgenealogy.org/attend/accommodations/. Conference Parking Handicap parking is available in all the self-park lots on a first-come-first-served basis. Valet parking is available at the Marriott Hotel.
