Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP)
BOOTH 118

GRIP is a week-long, hands-on institute offering several courses simultaneously for all levels of genealogists, taught by the top instructors in the field. In 2018, 23 courses are offered in three different weeks in two locations (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Amherst (Buffalo), New York). Affordable on-campus housing is available on both college campuses.

Courses range from Intermediate: Tools for Digging Deeper to Practical and Advanced Genetic Genealogy, Pennsylvania, New York, and Irish research strategies, Proof Arguments, Mastering Documentation, Military records, and Finding Females in Pittsburgh. Refining Internet and Digital Skills (including organizing your own computer!), Advanced Land Research, and Tackling Tough Research Problems are some of the courses in Amherst. One of the most unique courses is Family Archiving: Heirlooms in the Digital Age which addresses small collections, whether they are family, society, or small museums. Other courses are Forensic Genealogy, Church Records, and You Be the Judge Practicum.

Summer Camp for Genealogists is fun and educational, especially when shared with friends! Visit us in the booth to see photos of past GRIP experiences. Be the first to learn about the 2019 courses which will be announced on May 2 at the NGS conference!
