Raleigh – Durham International Airport (RDU)

All areas of the airport are handicap accessible. Airline personnel are available if assistance is needed. More information can be found at https://www.rdu.com/travel-info/traveling- with-disabilities/.

Raleigh Convention Center

Conference events will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh, NC 27601. The facility is ADA compliant with wheelchair ramps, elevator standards, door width standards, and rest room accessibility.

Lecture Rooms at the Conference

The back row of lecture rooms will be reserved for wheelchairs and scooters. Signs will be posted on the back of the chairs that are directly in front of this row. Attendees in wheelchairs and scooters will be able to wheel in and out easily. Wheelchairs and scooters cannot be parked in aisles, because they create a safety hazard for others. Room monitors will be available to help with placement.

Attendees who are in a wheelchair or scooter and have hearing difficulties may request a place in the front of the room. Please arrive at the lecture room at least 25 minutes before the session begins so the room monitor can arrange to seat you in the front.

An ASL interpreter will be provided if requested thirty days before the start of the conference.

Conference Hotels

Each of the conference hotels has a limited number of handicap rooms available. Contact information for the hotels can be found under “Accommodations” on the conference website http://conference.ngsgenealogy.org/accommodations/.

Conference Parking

Accessible Parking is available on the first level of each garage.
