Angela Packer McGhie, CG, FUGA, is a professional researcher, lecturer, and instructor. She is the education director for the National Genealogical Society and a trustee for the Board for Certification of Genealogists. McGhie is a frequent lecturer and instructor at several well-known genealogical study institutes including the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG). Her talk on federal land records in the western states will dig in to the wealth of genealogical information buried in various federal land records. Her lecture on document analysis will help you get beyond that immediate quick scan for names and dates and help you understand the story behind the document by studying the background and context and assessing both the reliability of the source and the information it contains.
