Irish Miners and Multi-Ethnic Arizona–David Rencher
SESSION: W145 TRACK: Western States TITLE: Arizona Genealogical Resources from A-Z
SESSION: S408 TRACK: Western States TITLE: Irish Miners Across America
David E. Rencher, AG, CG, FUGA, FIGRS, is the Chief Genealogical Officer at FamilySearch. He is giving two lectures, one on how to find America’s Irish miners and the other on the source records of Arizona, a state whose rich ethnic diversity can present unique challenges to family history researchers. Both talks are in the western states track, which has more than a dozen talks to offer those researching families in America’s West. Another seven lectures cover westward migration. This earlier blog summarizes all the sessions, which include topics on the Okies, the Orphan Trains, California Gold Rush miners, westward migration through song and story, women homesteaders of the West, the trails that migrants followed, case studies, and more.
