Title: Quakers in the Northern Shenandoah Valley: Their History, Migrations, and Records
Seventy Quaker families from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey settled in the northern Shenandoah Valley by 1735 on 100,000 acres of land granted by Virginia to Alexander Ross and Morgan Bryan. Hundreds of Quakers followed these original pioneers into the valley. Some stayed and some moved on to North Carolina or western Pennsylvania and Ohio. This lecture will cover the history of Quaker settlement in the valley, as well as their migrations into and out of the area. We’ll look at how to find the records that can help us reconstruct the lives of our Quaker ancestors in northwestern Virginia.

Registration is now open at https://conference.ngsgenealogy.org/.
