O-H-I-O! – Booth 424
Have ancestors who came through Ohio? Why not try out the Ohio Genealogical Society – http://www.ogs.org/membership/index.php – just $40 for a year. We are 5,000 members strong with the brand new Samuel D. Isaly Library of over 60,000 volumes, two award-winning journals (Ohio Genealogical Society Quarterly and Ohio Genealogy News), and a fantastic web site.
Among the treasures on the website are scanned books and manuscripts from our library, a collection of databases provided by our county chapters, access to FindMyPast and HeritagePursuit, and indices to many of our holdings. Our Hal West Archives contains real manuscript treasures, genealogical papers donated by our members, and lineage papers for First Families of Ohio, the Society of Civil War Families of Ohio, the Ohio Mayflower Society, Ohio Society War of 1812, and more! We have Bible records, ancestor charts and cards, obituaries, Ohio yearbooks, city and county directories, military indexes, surname files, and family histories.
Our mission in short is to acquire, preserve, and disseminate information about Ohio historic families. Stop by booth 424 and check out some of our publications or used books, and pick up some literature on the Ohio Genealogical Society. And follow us on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/OGSpage – You have friends (and relatives) in Ohio!
