Did your ancestors live in or pass through Michigan or surrounding states? The Library of Michigan offers access to many Michigan focused research collections to help you discover your family history. This overview presentation will give the researcher a foundational understanding of the collections and various ways to contact them in preparing for a research trip to the Library of Michigan.
Learn about several different aspects of the Library’s resources. Collections discussed will include Michigan newspapers, pioneer materials, gazetteers, state documents, and a number of others. Researchers may find some or many our resources valuable for family history research at the Library of Michigan.
Look for Matt Pacer at the Library of Michigan booth in the vendor display area. If not there, then he is out and about attending different sessions, making contacts, and discovering information that will improve the services at the Library of Michigan. He also hopes to see some of you on the Library of Michigan bus tour!
Note: For those planning to visit on their own, The Library of Michigan is open Monday – Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
