SLAM! Poster Presentation Guidelines

  • Each poster presenter will be provided with a 4′ x 4′ poster board area. The board will indicate the poster number in upper right or left corner. Authors are responsible for mounting their posters no later than 4:00 p.m. PT on 24 May 2022 at the SAFE Convention Center and removing them by 9:00 p.m. PT on 26 May 2022. Posters left up past that time will be discarded.
  • All poster materials should be prepared/printed in advance as materials for these purposes will not be available at the meeting site. NGS will provide a reasonable supply of push pins, but we suggest presenters provide their own if possible.
  • Each poster must include text in a large enough font (~20-point font) to be read easily by attendees from 5 feet or more away. Lettering on illustrations should be large and legible. Photographs should be a minimum of 5 x 7 inches. Material should be displayed in logical sequence and if using multiple sheets, each sheet should be numbered.
  • The effectiveness of a poster will be enhanced by graphic impact. Please note, however, that simplicity, ease of reading, etc., are more important than artistic flair.
  • Avoid overcrowding figures and cramming too many numbers into tables. Legends and titles should accompany all figures, tables, photographs, etc. to allow their immediate identification.
  • No commercial activities or any advertising may be displayed on the posters. Non-compliance with this rule will result in the poster being removed.
  • Presenters may bring handouts. No duplication facilities will be available through NGS. Presenters may also provide sign-up sheets for attendees who want additional information, reprints, etc.
  • Poster presenters must be present at their posters from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. PT on 24 May 2022, and are encouraged to be present at their posters on 25/26 May 2022 when possible. Presenters are encouraged to display the hours when they will be at their poster on 25/26 May.
