Story Telling Brings Us Together – Luncheon
TITLE: Paths to Your Past: Story Telling to Bring Us Together
SESSION: S433
TIME & DATE: Saturday, 05 May 2018, 12:15 p.m. (Luncheon – Registration Required)
SPONSOR: Genealogical Speakers Guild and International Society of Family History Writers and Editors (GSG / ISFHWE)
Genealogists tell stories because genealogy is more than just the begats. We tell stories because context matters. And we tell stories because that’s what our families want to hear. Not name-place-date, but who-what-why-when-where-how.
In this luncheon sponsored by the Genealogical Speakers Guild and International Society of Family History Writers and Editors, we’ll remind ourselves that, at its heart, good storytelling is both art and science. The science helps us understand why our families’ stories are so deeply meaningful and memorable. The art – that’s what lets us tell the stories that bring us together.
