Articles from recent publications will illustrate the topics to be covered. Learn to develop a style guide to direct decisions on writing conclusions and source citations. Understand what to include and how to structure permission forms.
Once you have a framework for writing, we’ll talk about organizing the narrative and the effective use of figures and charts.
Any genealogist using DNA as evidence for a genealogical conclusion can benefit from the ideas and experiences of article writers and book authors that will be included in this session.
NOTE: Debbie is the editor of the newly released (March 2019) book Advanced Genetic Genealogy: Techniques and Case Studies. The book will be available at Books and Things in the NGS Conference Exhibit Hall, Booth 401 (near the front aisle). Book signing sessions, if available, will be published at conference.
BIO:
Debbie Parker Wayne, CG, is the co-author with Blaine T. Bettinger of the award-winning DNA workbook, Genetic Genealogy in Practice, published by the National Genealogical Society (NGS). She is the author of the online, self-paced NGS course Continuing Genealogical Studies: Autosomal DNA. As the DNA Project Chair for the Texas State Genealogical Society, she manages the Early Texans DNA Project.
