Each year in January, the National Genealogical Society issues a call for proposals on its website.

Speaker proposals are for the following conference about fifteen months out. The Call for Proposals for the NGS Family History Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, 20‒23 May 2020 is closed.

The NGS 2021 Family History Conference, Virginia: Deep Roots of a Nation, will be held in Richmond, Virginia, 19‒22 May 2021. The call for proposals opened on 8 January 2020 and closes on 1 April 2020 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Check the NGS website for more information.

Before beginning the proposal process, speakers are encouraged to view NGS’ free webinar—Becoming a Better Conference Speaker: Proposals and Preparations—which can be found at the National Genealogical Society YouTube channel.
