The Delegate Council is the new advisory body for genealogical member organizations of NGS. The Delegate Council provides advice on genealogy and family history issues to the NGS Board of Directors, provides advice to the Board on how NGS can best serve genealogy and family history organizations, and implements programs delegated to the council by the NGS Board.

Visit the main NGS website to learn more about the role of delegates in “Building the Community of Genealogy Organizations through Collaboration, Communication, and Counsel.”

Meeting Date and Information

  • 24 May 2022
  • 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (PT)
  • SAFE Convention Center, Sacramento, California

Who should attend?

  • Official delegates of NGS member organizations. If your organization is unsure of its NGS membership status or its assigned delegate please contact [email protected].

Notes to Delegates

  • Please make every effort to attend. After several virtual events, the Delegate Council will meet in-person for the first time at the NGS 2022 Family History Conference—the start of an annual delegate meeting leading into the conference—and NGS is excited to welcome you at this important event.
  • Rooms are filling quickly at both conference hotels and the best availability is currently at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel. If you have not already made plans for coming to Sacramento, do so as soon as possible.
  • You’re encouraged to also register for and participate in other organization events and the entire Family History Conference. Immediately following the Delegate Council meeting on 24 May 2022 will be a luncheon (included with Focus on Societies registration), then Focus on Societies, and the SLAM! Idea Showcase. The conference begins that evening with the opening of the Expo Hall and runs through 28 May 2022.
  • One benefit for organization members is that up to three officers can attend the Family History Conference at the discounted individual member rate. Please contact [email protected] for details.
