About Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids—one of our nation’s historic crossroads for migration and immigration—is the second largest city in Michigan. The broad spectrum of those who settled in and around Grand Rapids or who passed through on their way West have enriched the culture of this beautiful city on the Grand River. It has a thriving economy with a small-town feel, friendly people, and safe walkable streets. Along with its vibrant arts and music community, Grand Rapids is also known for its parks and outdoor recreation. Many restaurants and breweries are within walking distance from DeVos Convention Center and nearby hotels. Grand Rapids is a one day drive or less from most Midwestern cities. The city’s Gerald Ford International Airport is serviced by five major airlines. See Getting There for more information.
