Explore methodologies for tracing ancestral migration, illustrated through Asahel Chappell’s journey from New York to Indiana, highlighting key research principles and resources.

It is often difficult to trace an ancestor who migrated from one place to another. This session will discuss principles for tracing ancestral migrations, and conclude with a case study on the migration of Asahel Chappell.

Alice Childs, AG, is the Assistant Director of the BYU Center for Family History and Genealogy. Her lecture topics include advanced research methodology and autosomal DNA case studies.
